The use of animal traps that are capable of causing physical
injury to an animal creates a danger of harm to small children and
household pets.
It shall be unlawful for any person to place or set an animal
trap that is capable of causing physical injury to an animal on any
public or private property within the City of Plattsburgh.
It shall be unlawful for an owner of real property to knowingly
permit the placement or setting of animal traps capable of causing
physical injury to an animal on his property.
Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be
deemed guilty of an offense punishable by a fine of not more than
$250.
