The Selectmen shall annually appoint a committee of nine voters
of the Town, to be known as the "Civic Holiday Celebration Committee,"
each of whom shall hold office for the term of one year, or until
his successor shall have been duly appointed and qualified. The unexpired
term of any member of said Committee shall be filled by the Selectmen.
Said Committee shall expend all or part of such funds as the
Town may appropriate therefor for the public observance and celebration
of the Fourth of July and of such other legal holidays or days of
historic interest to the Town as the Selectmen may from time to time
designate.
