The following terms when used in this Article, shall have the
meanings set out herein:
DISPLAY FIREWORKS
Explosive devices designed primarily to produce visible or
audible effects by combustion, deflagration or detonation. This term
includes devices containing more than two grains (130 mg) of explosive
composition intended for public display. These devices are classified
as fireworks, UN0333 or UN0334 or UN0335, within 49 CFR Part 172.
FIREWORKS
Explosive devices designed primarily to produce visible or
audible effects by combustion and includes aerial devices and ground
devices, all of which are classified as fireworks, UN0336, within
49 CFR Part 172.

A. No person shall sell or manufacture fireworks within the City of
Lake Lotawana, Missouri, at any time.
B. No person shall use or display any fireworks.
C. This Section shall not apply to public demonstrations or displays
of fireworks; provided, however, that such demonstrations or displays
of fireworks shall be permitted only after a valid special permit
therefor has been issued by the City as set forth herein.

A. Permits for public display of fireworks may be obtained from the
City Hall under the following conditions:
1.
Application shall name the date, location and person or entity
supervising said display.
2.
Person in charge (supervisor) shall prove and demonstrate to
the City that the person in charge is duly qualified to discharge
said display. Possession of a Class B Federal license of fireworks
shall be prima facie evidence of such qualification.
3.
The application shall be submitted to City Hall no later than
thirty (30) days prior to the date of display.
4.
Applicant shall submit proof of liability insurance for the
event in the amount of at least five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00).
B. If the Mayor is satisfied that all of the conditions in Subsection
A(1) through
(4) have been met, a permit may then be issued by the City.
