[Adopted as Title 15, Ch. 3, of the 1989 Code of Ordinances;
amended in its entirety at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General
Provisions, Art. II)]
The Village of Monticello, in complying with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA), 42 U.S.C.A. § 12101 et seq., has a policy
by which access to all Village programs, facilities, services and
employment is guaranteed to all citizens.
The right of a person to a prompt and equitable resolution of
the complaint filed hereunder shall not be impaired by the person's
pursuit of other state or federal remedies. Utilization of this grievance
procedure is not a prerequisite to the pursuit of other remedies.
However, the Village believes that resolution of the complaint will
be more promptly achieved if the Village is able to provide a remedy
before the complaint is brought to an external organization.
This article shall be construed to protect the substantive rights
of interested persons and to meet appropriate due process standards.
