The Borough of Springdale hereby establishes and fixes a bond
in the amount of $250,000 for all elected and appointed officials
and employees that are required to by law to be bonded or required
by Borough Council to be bonded, including the following: Borough
Treasurer, Elected Tax Collector, Borough Secretary/Clerk, and Borough
Manager. The costs and expenses of said bond shall be paid by the
Borough of Springdale.
If any sentence, clause, section, or part of this article is
for any reason found to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, such
unconstitutionality, illegality or invalidity shall not affect or
impair any of the remaining provisions, sentences, clauses, sections
or parts of this article. It is hereby declared as the intent of the
Council of the Borough of Springdale that this article would have
been adopted had such unconstitutional, illegal or invalid sentence,
clause, section or part thereof not been included herein.
This article shall take effect immediately upon its approval,
in accordance with the Borough Code.

Pursuant to Section 1104 of the Borough Code, as amended, the offices of Secretary and Treasurer of the Borough
of Springdale may be held by the same person. Council of the Borough
of Springdale may, in its discretion, appoint the same person or separate
persons as Secretary and Treasurer of the Borough.
The offices of Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer of
the Borough of Springdale is hereby authorized. Council of the Borough
of Springdale may, in its discretion, appoint the same person or separate
persons to these offices. Borough Council may, in its discretion,
choose not to appoint any person to either office.
Compensation for holders of the above-mentioned offices shall
be fixed by the Council of the Borough of Springdale in its discretion.
Nothing in this article shall require Council to fix a certain level
of compensation for the holder of any office.
