It is the intent and purpose of this ordinance to promote the
general health, safety and welfare of the citizens of this municipality
and to conform to the requirements of the Pennsylvania Construction
Code Act and regulations to the Act promulgated by the Pennsylvania
Department of Labor and Industry (hereinafter sometimes collectively
referred to as the "Code") in the Borough of State College.

This ordinance adopts, as amended, the following International
Codes in accordance with Act 45, "The Pennsylvania Construction Code
Act," and regulations to the Act promulgated by the Pennsylvania Department
of Labor and Industry (hereinafter sometimes collectively referred
to as the "Code"), as follows:

The Borough of State College hereby adopts, by reference, the
following amendments, alterations, deletions, and appendixes to the
International Code Council Electrical Code:

The Uniform Construction Code, Title 34 Pa. Code, Chapters 401
- 405, as amended from time to time, is hereby adopted and incorporated
herein by reference as the Building Code of the Borough of State College.

A Board of Appeals is hereby established in accordance with
the Centre Region Council of Governments' Centre Region Housing and
Code Board of Appeals' Articles of Agreement, dated July 8, 2004.

Fees assessable by the Borough for the administration and enforcement
undertaken pursuant to this ordinance and the Code shall be established
by the governing body from time to time by resolution.
