No person may dig or disturb the soil on any Town property,
including but not limited to commons, parks and cemeteries, that is
owned or controlled by the Town of Barre, without specific written
permission from the body, board, committee or commission that has
control over the property; then the Select Board may grant such permission.
As used in this bylaw, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
DIG or DISTURB
To include, but not limited to, the intentional act of penetrating
the soil surface with any tool or instrument in order to locate and
remove an object. This includes use of a metal detector to locate
a coin or other object and use of a tool or instrument to remove said
coin or object.
