This article is adopted pursuant to Real Property Tax Law § 467
(8-a) to authorize senior citizens to request permission of assessing
units to file late renewal applications for the Real Property Tax
Law exemptions allowed under Real Property Tax Law § 467
upon good cause shown.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Schoharie does hereby
authorize assessing units to allow for the late filing of renewal
applications for Real Property Tax Law § 467 exemptions
by senior citizens who have missed the application deadline for good
cause shown, subject to the requirements of Real Property Tax Law
§ 467 (8-a).
If any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, or part of
this article or the application thereof to any person, firm or corporation,
or circumstance, shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction
to be invalid or unconstitutional, such order or judgment shall not
affect, impair, or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall be
confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision,
or part of this article or in its application to the person, individual,
firm or corporation, or circumstance, directly involved in the controversy
in which such judgment or order shall be rendered.
