(a) 
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of Chapter 2 of Public Act No. 3 of 1895 (MCL 62.5), this section, and Section 2-20 are adopted to change the term of office and subsequent election procedure for trustees.
(b) 
At all biennial elections, three trustees shall be elected for four-year terms.
(c) 
The Village shall hold its regular election for Village offices at the September primary election held in odd-numbered years.

In any event, an elected trustee shall serve until his successor is qualified and enters upon the duties of his office.

(a) 
The Village Council shall, from time to time, review the compensation for the Village officers and Trustees and adjust said compensation to be passed by a 2/3 majority vote of the Council.
(b) 
Compensation shall be paid for regular and special meetings held by the Village Council and may, upon a two-thirds majority vote of the Council, include sitting as members of boards or the addition of duties beyond those or normal services.
(c) 
The President and each Trustee shall receive compensation for the performance of the duties of the office of President or Trustee only as follows:
(1) 
For attending regular and special meetings of the Council, the President is authorized to receive $85 per meeting, and Trustees $60 per meeting.
(2) 
For attending committee meetings the Chairperson of the committee is authorized to receive $40 per meeting, and the President or Trustees are authorized to receive $30 per meeting.
(3) 
For additional presidential duties outlined in the resolution outlining presidential duties, passed on September 16, 2015, the President is authorized to receive a yearly salary of $26,000, paid on a weekly basis.
(4) 
The President and Trustees shall receive no other compensation for services performed for and on behalf of the Village during their term of office. The Council shall review the President's salary, as well as the resolution outlining presidential duties, at its regular meeting immediately preceding the November 2016 election. The compensation is due and payable after attending a meeting for which compensation is authorized.
