A Historical Committee shall be established to serve the citizens
of Bonne Terre. The Committee shall serve in an advisory role, making
recommendations and suggestions dealing with issues related to the
history and historical preservation of the City. Such suggestions
and recommendations shall be formulated and, having the approval of
a majority of the Historical Committee, be presented to the City Administrator
for consideration by the City Council.

The Historical Committee shall consist of nine (9) members,
of which shall include the City Administrator and a member of the
City Council. The City Administrator and City Councilperson will act
in an ex officio capacity. The voting members shall be appointed by
the Mayor, with approval by the City Council and shall serve for three
(3) year terms on a concurrent basis.

The City Administrator and/or City Councilperson shall act as
liaison between the Historical Committee and the City Council and
as such shall report all findings of the Committee to the Council
at the regular City Council meetings.

All funds received by donations or by other means shall become
property of the City and be deposited in City accounts by the City
Clerk and/or City Treasurer. Donated funds may be earmarked for future
uses limited only to activities related to the committee's purpose.

Bylaws, procedural rules, meeting times and such organizational
considerations may be created, amended or abolished by the majority
vote of the Committee upon approval of the City Council.
