It shall be unlawful to operate a currency-operated automatic
music machine, commonly known as a "jukebox," or a currency-operated
machine in connection with which a sound track is played in the City
of Yonkers unless the owner thereof shall have obtained a license
from the Director of the Office of Licensing.

Application for such license shall be made to the Director of
the Office of Licensing upon such forms as he shall prescribe. Such
forms shall include the name, address, age and business of the applicant
and, if made on behalf of a corporation, the names of the officers
or members of the firm or individuals engaged in such business.

A. The applicant for a license shall pay to the Comptroller, prior to
the issuance thereof, an annual license fee as follows:
(1) Applicants operating one to four machines at a single location shall
pay an annual license fee of $100 for each machine that is to be operated;
(2) Applicants operating five or more machines at a single location shall
pay a license fee of $100 each for the first four machines, and $50
thereafter for each additional machine that is to be operated.
B. All moneys paid and received for such license fees shall be credited
to the general fund of the City.

Licenses will be issued pursuant to this article by the Director
of the Office of Licensing after payment of the required fee on January
1 of each year, and all persons not securing licenses before January
31 of each year will be in violation of this article.
No automatic music machine shall be maintained or operated at
any place of business in the City unless there shall be prominently
displayed in the place of business where the automatic music machine
is located a license certificate from the City of Yonkers.

The Director of the Office of Licensing shall have the power
to promulgate and prescribe rules and regulations for the purpose
of efficient administration and enforcement of this article.

The Director of the Office of Licensing shall have the power
to suspend or revoke any license issued pursuant to this article for
any violation of the provisions thereof or of any of the rules and
regulations promulgated by him, and no owner of the premises where
a licensed machine is being operated under this article shall permit
the premises where such machine is being operated to be used for any
immoral, improper or criminal purposes, and neither shall be permit
persons of known immoral, improper or criminal habits to frequent,
loiter or assemble on the premises or in the entrance thereto.
