A. A notary
public employed by the City of Pleasant Valley, Missouri, who provides
notary services to the public on non-City documents shall collect
fees for said services according to the following criteria:
1. The maximum fee for notarization of each signature and the proper
recording thereof in the journal of notarial acts is two dollars ($2.00)
for each signature notarized.
2. The maximum fee for certification of a facsimile of a document and
the proper recordation thereof in the journal of notarial acts is
two dollars ($2.00) for each 8½ x 11 inch page retained in
the notary's file.
3. The maximum fee for any other notarial act performed is one dollar
($1.00).

A. Policy.
The City of Pleasant Valley Administration Department shall process
all returned check and ACH payments, regardless of which department
the payment was made to, based on notification from the City of Pleasant
Valley’s banking institution. A twenty-five dollar ($25.00)
returned check fee will also be assessed. Payments returned due to
insufficient funds must be paid with a cashier’s check, money
order or cash. If payment in full is not received within thirty (30)
days of the date of the notice the matter will be turned over to the
Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
B. Processing.
Administration will process all returned payments within three (3)
business days of receipt of notification from the bank. Returned payments
will result in the effect of the original payment being reversed.
A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) returned check fee will also be assessed
at that time.
C. Notice
To Payees.
1. Notice of the twenty-five dollar ($25.00) fee will be prominently
posted on Administration and Court Department payment windows.
2. Upon notification of the returned check from the banking institution,
the City of Pleasant Valley Administration Department will notify
the payee of the returned check, in writing, which will include the
procedure for repaying the full amount owed.
