Editor’s Note: Former Art. X, Highland Park Redevelopment Agency, adopted by Ord. No. 1634 (§ 2-23 of the 1987 Code), was repealed 3-6-2018 by Ord. No. 18-1955.
The Mayor and Council hereby create and reconstitute as a part of this Code the Community Food Pantry Committee.
The Highland Park Community Food Pantry Committee shall consist of the following:
A. 
The Mayor;
B. 
The Chair of the Borough Council Standing Committee on Health and Welfare;
C. 
Twelve regular members and two alternate members, who shall be residents of the Borough of Highland Park, to be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council annually.
This Committee shall conduct the following activities:
A. 
To staff and run the activities of the Highland Park Food Bank, which shall be phased in the Highland Park Community Center.
B. 
Coordinate with the Middlesex County Food Organization & Outreach Distribution Services (M.C.F.O.O.D.S.) for the collection and distribution of food and necessities to assist those in need in Highland Park.
C. 
Prepare a plan of operation for the local food pantry and eligibility guidelines for recipients of the distributed products.
D. 
Recruit volunteers to assist in the activities and operation of the food pantry.
E. 
Prepare a report to the Mayor and Council annually on their recommendations as to the following matters:
(1) 
The proposed composition and duties of the Food Pantry Committee; and
(2) 
Matters which they deem appropriate and necessary to the smooth operation of the Food Pantry Committee.
