The provisions of this chapter shall be deemed to be an exercise
of the power of the Village of Maple Bluff provided for in NFPA 18.2.2.1,
Access box(es). "The authority having jurisdiction shall have the
authority to require an access box(es) to be installed in an accessible
location where access to or within a structure or area is difficult
because of security. The access box(es) shall be of an approved type
listed in accordance with UL 1037."
It is declared public policy of the Village of Maple Bluff to
maintain a rapid access program for times of emergency when a building
or business is not occupied or when the occupant is not able to provide
swift entry into structures by the Fire Department.
All existing buildings shall comply with the ordinance codified
in this chapter 12 months from its effective date. All newly constructed
buildings not yet occupied or buildings currently under construction
and all buildings or businesses applying for a certificate of occupancy
shall comply immediately.
Any building owner violating this chapter after notice from the Village of Maple Bluff Fire Chief shall be subject to the penalties as provided for in §
1-4 of this Municipal Code.
