Orange Township, NJ Article X Department of Fire

§ 4-42 Director.

A. The Department shall be headed by a Director, who shall be chosen solely on the basis of executive and administrative qualifications, with special reference to actual experience in or knowledge of accepted practice in respect to the duties of the office as hereinafter set forth.

B. The director may also be Fire Chief without added compensation.

§ 4-43 Functions.

The Department shall perform all appropriate functions associated with:

A. Fire fighting.

B. Fire prevention.

C. Care of equipment and apparatus.

D. Dispatch and communications.

E. Emergency management and preparedness.

F. Such other duties as may be assigned.

§ 4-44 Organization.

The Department shall be organized pursuant to a plan as provided in Article IV, § 4-23.
