Within the Division of Police there shall be established a Crime
Prevention Advisory Committee. The Committee shall consist of nine
(9) members who shall be nominated and appointed by the Mayor with
the advice and consent of the Council. Each member shall serve for
a term of three (3) years, except that of those first appointed, three
(3) shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, three (3) for two
(2) years, and three (3) for three (3) years. The Committee shall
advise and consult with the Director and the Chief of Police or his
designee with respect to matters of crime prevention, and may make
recommendations with respect thereto to the Mayor and Council.
