It is hereby found and determined that the Redevelopment Plan, incorporated in this Redevelopment Chapter by reference in Section 6, conforms to the Master Plan of the City of Plainfield.

It is hereby found and determined that the Redevelopment Plan gives due consideration to the provision of appropriate and allowable uses, densities and intensities for the Area and it is desirable for neighborhood improvement, with special consideration for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Area and the City of Plainfield.

It is hereby found and determined that the Redevelopment Plan will afford maximum opportunity, consistent with the sound needs of the locality as a whole, for the redevelopment of the Area.

In order to facilitate the implementation of the Redevelopment Plan, it is hereby found and determined that certain official action must be taken by the City Council and, accordingly, the City Council hereby pledges its cooperation in carrying out the Redevelopment Plan, and requests the various officials, departments, boards and agencies of the City of Plainfield having administrative responsibility to cooperate to such end and to exercise their respective functions and powers in a manner consistent with the Redevelopment Plan and this chapter and to take appropriate action upon proposals and measures designed to effectuate the same.

Development activity pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan shall only be related to City Tax Block 401, Lots 1 through 7, Block 402, Lot 1 through 11, Block 406, Lots 1 through 23, Block 400, Lots 2 and 9 and Block 407, Lots 1 through 7 and 9 including Comptons' Alley and all driftways, and any analysis of surrounding areas contained in the Redevelopment Plan shall not be construed to mean that the City of Plainfield intends to develop such surrounding areas.

The Redevelopment Plan for the Area, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and incorporated herein by reference and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of the Redevelopment Plan with the minutes of this meeting.

This chapter shall take effect upon passage and publication in accordance with statute.
