A Municipal Court for the Borough is hereby established pursuant
to the provisions of Chapter 264 of the Laws of 1948 of the State
of New Jersey, as amended and supplemented.

The name of the Municipal Court shall be the Municipal Court
of the Borough of Island Heights in the County of Ocean.

The Municipal Court shall have an official seal, which shall
bear the impress of the name of the Court.

There shall be a Judge of the Court, whose term of office shall
be three (3) years from the date of his appointment and until his
successors shall have been appointed and qualified.

The Judge of the Court shall be appointed by the Mayor with
the advice and consent of the Governing Body thereof.

The Judge of the Court shall receive such annual salary as shall
be fixed by ordinance, which salary shall be in lieu of all fees, costs and other
allowances whatsoever, all of which fees, costs and other allowances
shall be paid into the Borough Treasury at the end of each month.

The Municipal Court and the Judge thereof shall have, possess
and exercise all the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred
by the provisions of Chapter 264 of the Laws of 1948 of the State
of New Jersey, as amended and supplemented, and by any other law or
laws of the State now in force or that may be in force hereafter.

The Municipal Court shall be held at such place within the Borough
as shall be designated by the Governing Body.

The Emergency Management Coordinator shall appoint a Deputy
Emergency Management Coordinator with the approval of the Mayor.

There is hereby created an Emergency Management Council, to
be composed of not more than fifteen (15) members who shall be appointed
by the Mayor and shall hold office at the will and pleasure of the
Mayor. The Emergency Management Coordinator shall be a member and
shall serve as Chairman of the Emergency Management Council.
