As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM
That water distribution system being constructed by the Northampton
Borough Municipal Authority pursuant to a reimbursement agreement
between the Northampton Borough Municipal Authority and North Whitehall
Township dated November 28, 1977.
Each property owner connecting into the public water system
in the Township of North Whitehall shall be required, at the property
owner's expense, to install a check valve at a point before the public
water system meter.
Such check valve shall be kept in operating condition at all
times.
The Township and the public water works system are hereby given
the power from time to time and any time to the right of inspection
in order to enforce the provisions of this article.

Violations of this article shall be punishable as a summary offense as set forth in §
1-16A of this Code.
The Township of North Whitehall shall have all remedies normally
incidental to a violation of any municipal regulations, including
the right to seek the equitable relief in the Court of Common Pleas
of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
If any sentence, clause, section or part of this article is
for any reason found to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, such
unconstitutionality, illegality or invalidity shall not affect or
impair any of the remaining sentences, clauses, sections, provisions
or parts of this article, it being the intent of the Township of North
Whitehall that this article would have been adopted had such unconstitutional,
illegal or invalid sentence, clause, section or part thereof not been
included herein.
All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, inconsistent with this
article shall be and the same are expressly repealed.
This article shall become effective five days after adoption,
as provided by law.
