It shall be unlawful for any person not a resident of the borough
to hawk, solicit, canvass, peddle or expose for sale from house to
house within the limits of the borough, either on foot or by a conveyance
of any kind, any goods, wares, magazines, periodicals or merchandise
of any kind or character without first obtaining a permit as hereinafter
prescribed.

All applications for such permits shall be made to the Chief
of Police or the Borough Clerk of the borough, and they are hereby
authorized to issue such a permit to each applicant upon the payment
of a fee. Veterans shall be required to obtain a permit but shall
be exempt from payment of the fee.
The permit issued shall be a one-day permit, signed and dated
by the Chief of Police or the Borough Clerk of the borough and shall
be worn by the person securing such permit in such manner as to be
plainly visible. Each permit so issued shall expire on the day of
its issuance and shall not be transferable.
No person shall exercise on any day the rights and privileges
conferred or permitted by the permit except during a weekday and between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. prevailing time.
