The Mayor shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the City and
shall have the power and duty to supervise the administration of the
Charter and ordinances of the City, and all general laws applicable
thereto.

The compensation of the Mayor of the City shall be as fixed
by ordinance.

The Mayor may delegate to the head of any department any function,
power or duty conferred upon the Mayor by ordinance which is not required
by Charter or general law to be exercised, performed or discharged
personally by the Mayor.

The Mayor shall serve as chairman of the Board of School Estimate
constituted pursuant to Title 18 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey,
as amended and supplemented. The Mayor, in consultation with the Board
of School Estimate, shall examine into and from time to time make
recommendations to Council respecting the possibility of cooperation,
by contract or otherwise, in budgeting, personnel administration,
purchasing, accounting and control, and other staff services, as between
the City and the City School District.
