The Palmyra Green Team (hereinafter "Green Team") is hereby
established as an advisory committee to the Borough of Palmyra governing
body.
The general purposes for the Green Team shall include but not
be limited to:
A. Managing Palmyra's participation in the Sustainable Jersey program;
B. Encouraging the Palmyra staff to pursue sustainable practices where
possible and implement the governing body's economic and social
goals, as they relate to the environment and sustainability in New
Jersey, and environmental goals;
C. Encouraging the existing groups within Palmyra whose actions affect
economic and social issues, as they relate to the environment and
sustainability in New Jersey, and environmental issues, so as to eliminate
duplication and assure that important tasks are covered;
D. Coordinating input for the website;
E. Providing suggestions for further research and action to the governing
body;
F. Providing suggestions to the Land Use Board to promote economic and
social issues, as they relate to the environment and sustainability
in New Jersey, and environmental issues, so to be considered in their
deliberations and actions;
G. Forming various environmental subcommittees of the Green Team;
H. Soliciting and evaluating economic and social ideas and suggestions
from the community, as they relate to the environment and sustainability
in New Jersey, and environmental ideas and suggestions from the community;
I. Promoting the causes of sustainability within Palmyra.
The Green Team shall meet monthly and be open to the public.
Additional meetings of the Green Team may be scheduled by the Chair
at his/her discretion.
