No person shall conduct, operate or maintain
any circus, street show, carnival or other public exhibition, other
than baseball, softball, basketball, football or hockey, in the village
without first obtaining a license or permit therefor. The fee for
such license or permit shall be as set forth from time to time by
the Board of Trustees.

A. It shall
be unlawful for any person to practice palmistry or fortunetelling
within the corporate limits of the Village of Canastota, except when
such conduct is part of a business, show or exhibition solely for
the purpose of entertainment or amusement.
B. Any person lawfully engaged in palmistry or fortunetelling in accordance with the provisions of Subsection
A above shall prominently and conspicuously display, in a manner and location that is clearly visible to all patrons, a sign indicating that the activities and services offered are solely for the purpose of entertainment or amusement.
C. Any person found to be in violation of Subsection
A above shall be subject to prosecution under § 165.35 of the New York Penal Law.
