No person shall conduct, operate or maintain any circus, street show, carnival or other public exhibition, other than baseball, softball, basketball, football or hockey, in the village without first obtaining a license or permit therefor. The fee for such license or permit shall be as set forth from time to time by the Board of Trustees.[1]

A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to practice palmistry or fortunetelling within the corporate limits of the Village of Canastota, except when such conduct is part of a business, show or exhibition solely for the purpose of entertainment or amusement.
B. 
Any person lawfully engaged in palmistry or fortunetelling in accordance with the provisions of Subsection A above shall prominently and conspicuously display, in a manner and location that is clearly visible to all patrons, a sign indicating that the activities and services offered are solely for the purpose of entertainment or amusement.
C. 
Any person found to be in violation of Subsection A above shall be subject to prosecution under § 165.35 of the New York Penal Law.
