Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to deprive the Legislature of any of the powers or duties conferred upon it by the Tribal Constitution. Any recommendations of a committee to the Legislature shall be advisory in nature. Nothing in this chapter shall supersede the applicable requirements of any federally assisted program operated by the Tribe or one of the committees designated herein.
Committees of the Legislature shall adopt bylaws containing the provisions of the model bylaws found at the end of this chapter.[1] Committees may amend the model bylaws by majority vote of the committee, subject to the approval of the Tribal Legislature.

If any ordinance, resolution, motion, policy or other document of the Menominee Indian Tribe references committee of the Legislature which no longer exists, said reference shall be deemed a reference to the committee currently in existence which the Tribal Chairperson deems to be appropriate. If the Tribal Chairperson does not deem any current committee appropriate, the reference shall be deemed a reference to the Menominee Tribal Legislature.
