No person shall enter or use the Jefferson Dog Park area without
following the following rules and regulations:
A. Dog park open sunrise to sunset.
B. Use is at owner's risk. Hopatcong Borough is not responsible for
any injuries you or your dog(s) may suffer.
C. Small dogs (under 22 pounds) must not enter the large dog area under
any circumstances.
D. Large dogs must not enter the small dog area under any circumstances.
E. No dog in heat may enter the dog park.
F. Puppies under four months old are prohibited.
G. Dogs must be properly inoculated and display current license. Dogs
over six months old must be spayed or neutered.
H. No more than two dogs per person are permitted in the dog park at
one time.
I. No human or dog food, bones, rawhide, or chew toys in dog park as
dogfights may result.
J. Close and secure gates before releasing dog into dog park. (See additional
sign.)
K. The Pooper-Scooper Law will be strictly enforced inside as well as
outside the dog park.
L. No dogs known to be aggressive towards other dogs or people (or exhibiting
any threatening behavior) may enter dog park.
M. Dog owners are responsible for always controlling their dogs. Owners
must closely supervise their dogs and at no time should an owner leave
the run without their dog(s).
N. Dogs must be supervised by persons 18 or older.
O. Children under nine years of age are prohibited in the dog park.
Children over the age of nine should not be permitted to run with
or chase dogs in the dog park.
P. Dogs must be on a leash outside the dog park.
Q. Remove and dispose of personal items (chairs, water dispensers, and
bowls, etc.).
R. No glass receptacles, alcohol or smoking.
S. No prong (pinch), choke, or spiked collars permitted in the park.
T. If your dog inflicts injury, you are responsible.
U. The Borough of Hopatcong reserves the right to prohibit any dog or
person from using the dog park. The rule is under the discretion of
the Borough Animal Control Officer.
