In interpreting and applying the provisions of this chapter, they shall be held to be minimum requirements for the promotion of the public safety, health, convenience, comfort, morals, prosperity and general welfare. It is not intended by this chapter to interfere with or abrogate or annul any ordinance, rules, regulations or permits previously adopted or issued, and not in conflict with any of the provisions of this chapter, or which shall be adopted or issued pursuant to law relating to the use of buildings or premises and likewise not in conflict with this chapter; nor is it intended by this chapter to interfere with or abrogate or annul any easements, covenants or other agreements between parties.
The provisions of this chapter are severable, and if any word, words, part, parts, provisions, section, sentence, clause, exception or exemption shall be illegal, invalid or unconstitutional, such illegality, invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect or impair any of the remaining words, parts, provisions, sections, sentences, clauses, exceptions or exemptions of this chapter. It is hereby declared to be the intent of the Borough Council of Swoyersville that this chapter would have been adopted if such illegal, invalid, or unconstitutional part had not been included herein.
The Zoning Ordinance for the Borough of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, enacted by the Borough Council of Swoyersville on April 29, 1965, and approved by the Mayor of said Borough on May 3, 1965, and any and all amendments thereof is hereby repealed,
This chapter shall become effective from and after the date of its approval and adoption as provided by law.
