The Maltby Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association and the Swoyersville Fire Department Number 2, located in the First and Third Wards, respectively, of Swoyersville Borough, be and the same are hereby officially and duly recognized as such by the Borough Council of the Borough of Swoyersville and as organizations formed for the purpose of protecting persons and property within said Borough from the hazards and havoc of fire, and maintaining associations for beneficial and protective purposes to its members and their families in case of death, sickness, temporary or permanent disability or accident, from the funds collected by or contributed to said organizations.
The hereinbefore-named volunteer firemen's relief associations, fire departments or hose companies be and the same are hereby designated by the Borough Council of the Borough of Swoyersville as the proper associations to receive such funds as are or may become due and payable to the Borough Treasurer by the Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from the tax of 2% paid upon foreign fire insurance premiums by foreign fire insurance companies doing business within said Borough.
There is hereby appropriated from the Borough treasury and directed to be forthwith disbursed, distributed and paid over on proper Borough vouchers, in equal proportions and as authorized, directed and provided by an Act of Assembly approved April 25, 1929, P.L. 709, to the hereinbefore-named volunteer firemen's relief associations, fire departments or hose companies, all such sum or sums of money that may hereafter be paid into the aforesaid Borough Treasury by the Treasurer of the State of Pennsylvania, on account of taxes paid on premiums by foreign fire insurance companies in pursuance of an act of assembly in such case made and provided.
