The following days are hereby declared holidays for all regular city employees, subject, however, to the limitations herein stated:

New Year’s Day -January first.
(2)
Martin Luther King Day -Third Monday in January.
(3)
Good Friday -Last Friday before Easter.
(4)
Memorial Day -Last Monday in May.
(5)
Independence Day -July fourth.
(6)
Labor Day -First Monday in September.
(7)
Thanksgiving Day -Fourth Thursday in November.
(8)
Friday after Thanksgiving.
(9)
Christmas Eve Day -December twenty-fourth.
(10)
Christmas Day -December twenty-fifth.
(b)
One floating holiday -To be taken during calendar year with approval of immediate supervisor in accordance with guidelines established by the city manager.
(c)
If the legal holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday is observed on the preceding Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the holiday is observed on the following Monday.
