(a)
There
is hereby adopted as the city life safety code that certain National
Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code, 1981 edition, including
each successive revision thereof, as adopted by the National Fire
Protection Association, Inc., which is adopted for the purpose of
providing requirements for safeguarding persons and property and promoting
the welfare of the public.
(b)
The
National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code shall be maintained
as a separate special code apart from this general code, and the original
adoptive ordinance (Ordinance No. 83-369), as amended in this section,
and all amendments thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
All future amendments thereto shall be made by ordinance amending
such special code and shall not be recorded as a part of this general
code.
