Editor’s note-Ordinance O-846-07, certifying the results of an election held May 12, 2007, section 3, states: “The City Manager and the City Attorney are directed to revise the Charter to incorporate the foregoing amendments, including the drafting of language not specifically contained therein… .” Those changes, when made by the city, will be incorporated in a future supplement.
Approved at an election held on May 12, 2012, Ordinance O-09-12, prop. 7, all gender-related pronouns or other gender references were revised to be gender neutral.

This Charter is dedicated to the citizens of the “City of Glenn Heights, Texas,” and to, ensure such powers, rights, and duties as are herein provided and to encourage the citizens’ participation in the democratic government for proper and efficient progress of our city.
To this end we ordain this home rule charter as prescribed by law and with the guidance of God.
