The Board of Supervisors hereby recreates and recognizes an
Agricultural Security Area Advisory Committee (hereafter "Advisory
Committee"), consisting of no more than five members, with three to
be farmers, one a citizen, and one shall be the Chairperson of the
Board of Supervisors.
The members of the Advisory Committee shall sit and serve at
the pleasure of the Chairperson of the Advisory Committee, and the
Chairperson may, from time to time, determine that vacancies should
be filled and/or that members should be replaced, which is within
the sole purview of the Chairperson. Such appointments or changes
in personnel may be announced and/or acted on by resolution of the
Board of Supervisors at the annual reorganization meeting on the January
1 of each year.
The members shall serve without salary, but the Board of Supervisors
may entitle each such member to reimbursement for his/her actual and
necessary expenses incurred in the performance of his/her official
duties.
The Advisory Committee shall advise the Board of Supervisors
in relation to the proposed establishment, modification, and termination
of agricultural security areas and, in particular, the Committee shall
render expert advice as to the nature of farming and farm resources
within the proposed area and the relation of farming in such area
to the Township as a whole.
Any provisions of any prior enactments, inconsistent with the
provisions contained herein, are hereby repealed and replaced by these
provisions.
The effective date of this chapter shall be the date of its
enactment by the Board of Supervisors.
