For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms and phrases shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this section, with the exception of areas where the context clearly and unambiguously indicates a different meaning.
Animal.
A warm blooded organism other than a human being.
Animal Control Officer.
The municipal officer charged with the regulation and control of animals within the City of Hillsboro.
Board.
The Texas Board of Health
Bovine.
Of, relating to, or like an animal of the genus bos, such as an ox or a cow.
City.
Means the City of Hillsboro, Texas.
Dangerous Dog.
A dog as defined in V.T.C.A., Health and Safety Code, Ch. 822, Subchapter D.
Department.
The Texas Department of Health
Equine.
Of, relating to, or typical of a horse.
Hydrophobia.
An acute viral disease of man and animal, affecting the central nervous system, commonly referred to as "rabies."
Ovine.
Of, relating to, or characteristic of a sheep.
Owner.
A person who possesses or has custody over an animal
Porcine.
Of, relating to, or typical of a swine or pig.
Rabies.
An acute viral disease of man and animal, affecting the central nervous system.
Run at Large.
To allow an animal to remain in any place unleashed, other than in a secure enclosure.
Secure Enclosure.
A fenced area or structure that is:
(1) 
locked;
(2) 
capable of preventing the entry of the general public, including children; and
(3) 
capable of preventing the escape or release of the animal in question.
Swine.
Anungulate mammal of the family suidae, including the pig, hog and boar.
Written Notice.
The receipt of a document by certified mail or hand delivery.
