Any of the following shall be a violation of this Ordinance and shall be subject to the enforcement remedies and penalties provided by this Article and by state law.
11-1.1 
To engage in any development, use, construction, remodeling or other activity of any nature upon the land and improvements thereon subject to the jurisdiction of this Ordinance without all required permits, certificates or other forms of authorization as may be set forth in this Ordinance to conduct or engage in such activity.
11-1.2 
To engage in any development, use, construction, remodeling, or other activity of any nature in any way inconsistent with any permit, certificate, or other form of authorization granted for such activity.
11-1.3 
To violate, by act or omission, any term, condition, or qualification placed by the City Council upon any required permit, certificate or other form of authorization for the use, development or other activity upon land or improvements thereon.
11-1.4 
To erect, construct, reconstruct, alter, repair, convert, maintain or use any building or structure or to use any land in violation or contravention of this Ordinance, or amendment thereto, or any other regulation made under the authority conferred thereby.
11-1.5 
To continue any of the above-stated violations.

11-2.1 
Any violation or attempted violation of this Ordinance or of any condition or requirement adopted pursuant hereto may be restrained, corrected or abated by injunction or other appropriate proceeding pursuant to state law.
11-2.2 
This Ordinance may be enforced by any one or more of the remedies authorized by this Article.
11-2.3 
Each day’s continuing violation is a separate and distinct offense.
11-2.4 
The City of Greenville may seek enforcement as provided by state law and this Ordinance.
(A) 
The City of Greenville may seek criminal penalties as may be provided by state law and this Ordinance.
(B) 
The City of Greenville may withhold or deny any permit, certificate or other form of authorization on any land, structure, or improvement in which there is an uncorrected violation of a provision of this Ordinance or of a condition or qualification of a permit or certificate or other authorization previously granted.
(C) 
The City of Greenville may, in lieu of withholding such authorization, condition such authorization upon the correction of the deficiency.
(D) 
The City of Greenville may stop work on any building or structure on any land when there is or has been an uncorrected violation of a provision of this Ordinance or of a permit or other form of authorization issued hereunder. Such action shall be in accordance with state law.
(E) 
The City of Greenville shall have such other remedies as are and as may be provided for or allowed by state law.

11-3.1 
Any person who violates any provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a criminal penalty.
11-3.2 
Upon conviction, any person violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined a sum not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) per violation.
11-3.3 
For each day the violation is not corrected, the violator will be guilty of a new and separate offense and subject to additional criminal penalty. The total penalties imposed shall be limited in accordance with state law.

11-4.1 
In addition to other enforcement provisions contained in this Article, the City of Greenville may exercise any and all enforcement powers granted to it by state law.
11-4.2 
Nothing in this Ordinance shall prohibit the continuation of previous enforcement actions undertaken pursuant to valid resolution and law.

11-5.1 
Any property owner owning property in any district, where such property owner may be affected by a violation of the terms of this Ordinance, may bring suit in a court having proper jurisdiction.
11-5.2 
Such property owners shall have all remedies as may be available at law and equity in the protection of the property owner’s rights.

11-6.1 
No presently illegal use shall be deemed to have been legalized unless such use falls within a use district where the actual use is a conforming use. Otherwise, such uses shall remain nonconforming uses where recognized, or an illegal use, as the case may be.
11-6.2 
No offense committed and no liability, penalty or forfeiture, either civil or criminal, incurred prior to zoning ordinance repeal shall be discharged or affected by such repeal.
11-6.3 
Prosecution and suit for offenses, liabilities, penalties and forfeitures may be instituted or causes presently pending may proceed in all respects as if ordinance repeal has not occurred.

11-7.1 
All such remedies provided herein shall be cumulative.
11-7.2 
To the extent that state law may limit the availability of a particular remedy set forth herein for a certain violation or a part thereof, such remedy shall remain available for other violations or other parts of the same violation.
