A. It shall be unlawful for any person to take fish out of the Lawson
City Lake by means of hook, line, net, gig or any other means without
a State fishing permit or an exempt individual. Then and only then
may a person take fish from the Lawson City Lake by means set forth
by the Department of Conservation. Head and tail must remain attached
to all black bass while on the area or until checked by an agent of
the Conservation Commission. Pole and line fishing only, with not
more than three (3) poles per person.
B. No person shall operate a motorboat in the Lawson City Lake by means
of a gasoline-powered motor. Only electric motors are permitted.
C. The Lawson City Lake area shall be closed from 10:00 P.M. to 6:00
A.M. daily except to persons actively pole or line fishing or camping
in a designated area. Bullfrogs and green frogs may be taken according
to Statewide seasons and limits but only by pole and line, hand, hand
net, longbow, or gig. Seining or trapping live bait is prohibited.
Hunting or shooting is prohibited unless authorized by another ordinance.
Swimming, digging, fireworks and unattended fires are not allowed.
Fires are permitted within self-contained grills or fire pits in designated
areas. Trapping of animals may be permitted only under special permit
authorized by the City Administrator. Horseback riding, cutting or
removal of vegetation, except mushrooms, edible wild greens and berries
or other fruits, and the harvest of nuts is prohibited except by special
authorization. Picnicking is allowed. No littering is allowed.
D. It shall be unlawful to operate any motorized vehicle off of the roadway or designated parking areas unless the vehicle is a utility vehicle as defined by Section
300.010, or a golf cart as defined by Section
340.117. Authorized utility vehicles and golf carts must be registered with the City of Lawson and must have a valid City issued annual permit. All terrain vehicles as defined by Section
300.010 and all motorcycle style vehicles are strictly prohibited.
E. Authorized motor vehicles must be operated solely on the lake trail
or disc golf path and must be operated in a careful and prudent manner,
as to prevent damage to City property, and with reasonable regard
to human safety. The lake trail and disc golf path shall have a designated
speed limit of ten (10) miles per hour.
F. Operators of any authorized motor vehicle, upon approach of a pedestrian
or bicyclist, shall yield the right-of-way to the pedestrian or bicyclist
by temporarily driving off the lake trail or disc golf path as needed
to safely allow the pedestrian or bicyclist to pass. When conditions
do not reasonably allow the operator to leave the lake trail or disc
golf path, the operator shall stop their authorized motor vehicle
until the pedestrian or bicyclist passes.
G. It shall be unlawful to operate any motor vehicle upon any pedestrian
footbridge.
H. Violation of this Section shall, upon conviction, be punishable pursuant to Section
100.220.

A. The
establishment of the Lakeview Campground and RV Park (RV Park) is
intended to be for recreational camping purposes only. No person may
assume the establishment of residency upon the property. No person
shall park a camper trailer, recreational vehicle, or similar vehicle
designed or equipped with living quarters designed of human occupancy,
upon the RV Park property except by authorized parking permit only.
Any motor vehicles or camper trailers, left upon the property without
a valid permit for longer than forty-eight (48) hours, shall be considered
abandoned property and may be subject to removal. Vehicles parked
at or blocking a campsite which unreasonably interferes with the use
of that campsite, may be subject to immediate removal. All such removals
shall be at the expense of the owner of the vehicle.
B. The
City Administrator is authorized to establish a fee for the authorized
parking permit. In addition to any fee, the City Administrator is
authorized to establish operational rules to provide for the management
of the RV Park. These operational rules shall be prominently posted
at the RV park; shall be available via the internet at the time of
permit application at the City's public website; or available upon
request at City Hall. The authorized permit may be revoked at any
time by the City Administrator or the Chief of Police or the designee
of either, for any violation of the operational rules or violation
of any City ordinance by the permit holder or the holder's guests.
Permit fees shall be non-refundable if the permit was revoked for
a rules or ordinance violation.
C. The
City Administrator may establish a volunteer representative for the
City of Lawson, who shall be designated as the Camp Host. The Camp
Host shall be authorized to park a camper trailer, recreational vehicle,
or other motor vehicle upon the property without the issuance of the
authorized permit. The Camp Host shall act as the on-site supervisor
for the RV Park and shall report violations of camp rules or City
ordinances to Lawson City Hall or the Lawson Police Department.
D. Each
permit shall authorize parking at a specific location identified as
a camp site. Each authorized parking permit shall be issued to a specific
person (permittee) who is responsible for each campsite and may have
up to five (5) guests per campsite. It shall be the responsibility
of the permittee to prevent property damage to campsite and to ensure
that the permittee and his/her guests comply with the RV Park operational
rules and City ordinances. There shall be a rebuttable presumption
that property damage at the campsite was committed by or allowed by
the permittee.
E. No
person may discharge any firearm, BB gun, paintball gun, bow, crossbow,
slingshot; or similar devices that propel a projectile through the
use of an explosive, compressed gas, or mechanical tension upon any
property at the RV Park. Detonation or public possession of fireworks
is prohibited at the RV Park.
F. Permittees
and their guests are restricted to a total of two (2) pets per campsite.
Each animal must be secured in a cage or kennel, or must remain inside
the camper trailer or recreational vehicle, or must be secured upon
a leash no longer than ten (10) feet in length.
G. It shall be the responsibility of the permittee to ensure that "quite hours" are maintained between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. daily at each campsite. During quiet hours, no unreasonably loud noises shall be permitted by the permittee and violations may be punishable as a peace disturbance in accordance with Section
210.670.
H. Between
March 1st thru October 31st of each year, no parking permit may be
issued for any camper trailer, recreational vehicle or other similar
vehicle, to authorize parking at any campsite at the RV Park in excess
of fifteen (15) days within a thirty (30) day period. Permits requested
or issued in violation of this restriction shall be invalid and a
refund of permit fees may be issued.
I. Between
November 1st and February 28th of each year, parking permits may be
issued for any camper trailer, recreational vehicle, or other similar
vehicle to authorize parking for a variable period of time as needed
not to extend beyond February 28th
J. Violation of this Section shall, upon conviction, be punishable pursuant to Section
100.220.
