The Town Assessor or Certified Public Assessor shall be appointed
by the Select Board with special reference to actual related experience
or knowledge of accepted practices with respect to the duties of the
office. The Town Assessor or Certified Public Assessor shall meet
the State requirements for Town certification. The Assessor shall
exercise the same powers and be subject to the same duties and liabilities
that similar officers of the towns and cities in the State of Maine
may exercise and may now or hereafter be subject to under the laws
of the state.
The Select Board shall appoint in accordance with state statutes
a Board of Assessment Review to review and revise assessments where
appropriate.
