(a) 
The city council hereby declares and finds that the city has a population in excess of six hundred (600) inhabitants and that by virtue of article 961, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, the city is entitled to accept the provisions of title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, in its entirety, including particularly chapters 1 through 10 thereof.
(b) 
The city hereby accepts and adopts the provisions of title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, in its entirety, including particularly chapters 1 through 10 thereof.

(a) 
It shall be unlawful for any person to damage, mutilate, destroy, remove, or take down any ordinance, or copy of an ordinance, or any notice or sign put up or posted by the city within its corporate limits; provided it shall not be unlawful for any officer or person duly authorized by the city council to do so to remove or take down any such posted ordinance or notice after it has remained posted for the period required by law, or any sign or notice.
(b) 
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine as provided in section 1.01.009 of this chapter.

(a) 
As allowed by state law and in lieu of employee bonds, the city will maintain a public employee dishonesty policy and an errors and omissions policy that will cover the mayor, elected officials, officers, employees and volunteers.
(b) 
As required by state law, the treasurer of the municipality shall execute a bond as described in section 1.04.063.
