(a)
The members of the park and recreation board shall be resident citizens of the city appointed by the city council. The members of the board shall be identified by place numbers 1 through 5. Beginning July 1, 2017, members in places 2 and 4 shall be appointed to serve a one-year term, members in places 1, 3 and 5 shall be appointed to serve two-year terms. Thereafter, the term of office of the members shall be two years beginning on July 1st of the year of appointment. Each member shall serve until their successor has been appointed and qualified. Board members may be appointed to succeed themselves.
(b)
The board shall determine by majority vote a chairman, vice-chairman and secretary to keep the park board minutes. The offices of chairman, vice-chairman and secretary will be for a period of one year beginning on July 1st of each year.
(c)
Members shall be persons of good moral standings in the community and may be removed by majority vote of the city council at their sole discretion.
