For the purposes of prescribing the qualifications for voting
and to regulate the holding of elections, there is hereby adopted
and incorporated into this code by reference the Election Code of
the state, being title 50, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, insofar
as the same may be applied to the city, and except such provisions
as are set forth in the charter of the city or in this code.

The city is divided into election precincts which shall be established
and described by separate ordinance. The ordinance shall be amended
from time to time as is necessary.

(a) The
boundaries of the five (5) single-member council districts shall include
all territory within the city limits, described as follows:.

(b) The
boundaries of the five (5) single-member council districts set out
herein are delineated in the council district maps of the city which
can be found at the city website and at the city secretary’s
office.

The regular municipal election of the city shall be held on
the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each year,
and the same shall be conducted, and the results canvassed and announced
by the election authorities prescribed by the general election laws
of the state, and said general election laws shall control in all
municipal elections except as otherwise herein provided.
