(a) The
physical control and management of the vehicles owned by the city
and used by the city volunteer fire department shall be by the members
of such fire department. Only members of the fire department or the
police department, the chief of police, and members of the city council
shall exercise any physical control over such vehicles and their attached
equipment. No person except a member of such volunteer fire department
or the police department, the chief of police or a member of the city
council shall start the motor to or ride upon any such vehicle.
(b) Any person other than a member of the fire department or the police department, the chief of police, the night watchman or a member of the city council who shall violate any of the provisions of subsection
(a) of this section shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of section
1.01.009.

(a) It
shall be unlawful for any person within the city limits to interfere
with any person or department connected with the fire department of
the city while such person or department is engaged either in fire
practice or the extinguishment of fire.
(b) It
shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with or drive over with
any automobile, wagon, truck, tractor or any other kind of vehicle,
or machinery, any fire hose belonging to the city or connected with
the fire department.
(c) Every person violating any of the provisions of subsection
(a) or
(b) of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction in the municipal court shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of section
1.01.009.
(d) Police power is conferred upon both the chief and captain of the fire department for the purpose of enforcing any of the provisions contained in subsections
(a) and
(b) of this section, and either shall have the right to arrest any person violating any of those provisions.
