(a) The
city may discontinue service to any customer for any of the following
reasons:
(1) Failing to pay a delinquent account or failing to comply with the
terms of a deferred payment arrangement of a delinquent account.
(2) Violating the city’s ordinances, policies, or codes pertaining
to the use of any service in a manner which interferes with the service
of others, creates a hazardous or potentially hazardous condition,
or the use of nonstandard equipment.
(3) Service or services will be discontinued immediately without notice
where a known dangerous condition exists for as long as the condition
exists.
(4) Unauthorized tampering with the meters or equipment or bypassing
the same.
(5) Failing or refusing to repair or replace or to have repaired or replaced
any of the piping, appliances or equipment when notified by the city
of their hazardous condition.
(6) Fraudulent representation relating to the use of services provided
by the joint utility system.
(7) Selling, delivering, or furnishing utilities to other persons either
on or off the customer’s premises with or without written permission
from the city.
(b) Unless
a dangerous condition exists (as determined by the sole discretion
of the city), the city will terminate services only on normal work
days between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, when
personnel are available for bill collections and service reconnections.
