There is hereby established the office of Water Repair Supervisor for the Borough of Seaside Heights.
The Water Repair Supervisor shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council.
To be appointed as Water Repair Supervisor for the Borough of Seaside Heights, an individual must meet the requirements set by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or successor entity for such position.
The Water Repair Supervisor:
A. 
Assists in developing a suitable work program for the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution and transmission system.
B. 
Assigns work to supervisors and supervises the installation of main line extensions, hydrants, gate valves, and appurtenances.
C. 
Supervises lower level supervisors and others engaged in the installation, renewal, and repair of consumers' service pipes, meters, and appurtenances.
D. 
Requisitions required materials and supplies and maintains a proper inventory.
E. 
Supervises the preparation of clear, accurate, and informative reports.
F. 
Establishes and maintains needed records and files.
G. 
Reviews work orders, plans work assignments and schedules, and establishes priorities.
H. 
Reviews operational reports to resolve problems, ensure minimum costs and prevent delays in completion of projects.
I. 
Develops and revises standard working procedures and observes workers in order to ensure compliance with standards.
J. 
Initiates personnel actions, and handles other personnel matters.
K. 
Assigns staff to repair and maintain water pipes, mains, valves, and hydrants and supervises their work.
L. 
Performs such duties as the governing body and the Director of Public Works may from time to time require.
