The position of animal control officer of the city is hereby
continued. All animal control staff shall be assigned to a department
as determined by the city manager, and the compensation of such employees
shall be determined by the employee(s) supervisor, with approval of
the city manager.

Enforcement of this chapter shall be the responsibility of the
animal control officer or any peace officer.

The animal control officer shall have the authority to issue
citations for any violations of this chapter. If the person being
cited is not present, the animal control officer may send the citation
to the alleged offender by registered or certified mail.

It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with any animal
control officer in the performance of their duties.
