(a)
Office; appointed.
The judge of the municipal court shall be appointed by the city council The judge shall preside over the municipal court and shall serve for a two-year term of office and at such salary as is prescribed by the city council. The judge of the municipal court may be removed at the will of the city council.
(b)
Vacancy in office of judge.
In the absence of the regular municipal judge, the city council may appoint any other person qualified for the position to sir for the regular municipal judge or the mayor may serve as ex officio judge until a judge is appointed.
(c)
Office of clerk; duties.
The city secretary shall be the clerk of the court. The clerk of the municipal court shall keep the minutes of the proceedings of the court, issue all process and generally perform all the duties of the clerk of a court as prescribed by law for a county clerk insofar as the same may be applicable.
