A. All sewer mains and sewer lines constructed after June 6, 1955, for
connection with the sewer system of the City shall be constructed
in accordance with the standards and requirements of the State Clean
Water Commission.
B. After such date, no sewer main or sewer line not approved by the
State Clean Water Commission shall be connected with the City sewer
system, nor shall a sewer line not approved by such commission be
connected to a private sewer line which is in turn connected with
the City sewer system.

Upon written application to the City Collector, any person may
make a request for the extension of sewer mains and lines in the streets,
alleys or easements within the City in order to permit connections
with persons desiring sewer service where existing sewer lines are
within reasonable distance for such construction.

The person or persons desiring a main extension will be responsible
for the total cost of extending the sewer main. Contractors must be
approved by the City prior to commencement of work. A profile map
showing the location, depth, length, etc., must be approved by the
City and State prior to construction.

The Water and Sewer Department, under the direction of the City
Manager, shall determine the kind and size of sewer lines and appurtenances
needed to adequately serve the City; and applicants who make their
deposits and desire service under this Article are hereby advised
of the same.

Upon the completion of the construction of any mains and lines
pursuant to this Article, the same shall become under the sole and
exclusive management of the City.
