Sidewalks shall be required to be constructed in all residential
and commercial districts, and may be required in industrial districts.

Minimum sidewalk widths shall be as follows:
(1) Residential district: Sidewalk 4.5 feet;
(2) Commercial district: Minimum 7.5 feet;
(3) Industrial district: Minimum 5.5 feet.

Contiguous curb and sidewalk shall be provided in both commercial
and industrial districts. The planning commission may waive the requirement
in part or total in industrial districts.

When street cross section and terrain make sidewalk construction
impractical in the opinion of the planning commission, sidewalks may
be eliminated or required on one side of the street only.

Tree well cutouts shall be provided at maximum seventy foot
(70') intervals in sidewalks along major, primary and secondary streets.
Said tree wells shall be partially in the right-of-way adjoining the
property line in a minimum size space of five feet by five feet (5'
x 5'). A five foot by three foot (5' x 3') space will be provided
in the right-of-way and an additional five foot by two foot (5' x
2') easement on the adjoining property shall be granted to the city.

Construction of improved walkways not less than five feet (5')
in width may be required when the distance from a development to an
improved area is greater than nine hundred feet (900'). Where necessary
to provide access to schools, parks and scenic easements, said walkways
shall be improved in accordance with the standard improvement specifications
on file with the city engineer.
