There is established a planning commission of the city.

The planning commission shall consist of seven members appointed
by the city council for overlapping four-year terms. No member shall
serve more than two consecutive terms.

A.
Makes
recommendations to the city council on general plan, specific plan,
zoning and other land use policy areas.
B.
Reviews
and makes recommendations to the city council or, where appropriate,
approves entitlements for compliance with the general plan, applicable
specific plans, and other policy documents.
C.
Takes
final action on major project permits, conditional use permits, tree
permits, tentative subdivision maps, variances, and zoning interpretations.
D.
Determines
the adequacy and consistency with the California Environmental Quality
Act of environmental documentation associated with projects acted
upon by the planning commission.
E.
Provides
representation of the city at various conferences, before other agencies,
etc.
F.
Provides
commission members for service on special task forces/committees,
as needed.
G.
Provides
a forum for public involvement for the items listed above.
