As used in this Title, the following terms are defined as set
forth in this Chapter.
(Ord. 48 § 1, 1969)
means the Building Director of the Building Department or
other authorized officer of the City of Indian Wells.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (D), 1969)
means a site designed to be occupied by a building or structure
that requires grading or excavating or filling.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (A), 1969)
means the City of Indian Wells.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (B), 1969)
means any person licensed by the State of California to perform
work as described in this Title.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (L), 1969)
means the Building Department or other authorized agency
of the City.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (C), 1969)
means a civil engineer, registered in the State of California
to perform work as described in this Title.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (J), 1969)
means a geologist specializing in the application of geological
data and principles to engineering problems dealing with naturally
occurring rock and soil for the purpose of assuring that geological
factors are recognized and adequately interpreted in engineering practice.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (K), 1969)
means any act by which land is cut into, dug, quarried, uncovered,
removed, displaced or relocated, and the conditions resulting therefrom.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (F), 1969)
means any act by which earth, sand, gravel, rock, or similar
materials are deposited, placed, pushed, pulled or transported to
a place other than the place from which it was excavated, or any material
that has been loosened or disturbed from its natural State where it
was deposited by evolution of geological processes.

means the act of excavating or filling land.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (H), 1969)
means the person, firm or corporation that is undertaking
a development of land that is regulated by this Title.
(Ord. 48 § 1 (E), 1969)
means a civil engineer, registered in the State of California,
with a specialty and experience in the analysis of soils and their
behavior.
