Section 307.6 of the California Fire Code, 2022 Edition is amended
to read as follows:
307.6 Outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, fire rings, or similar
devices used at Group R occupancies. Outdoor fireplaces, fire
pits, fire rings, or similar exterior devices used at Group R occupancies
shall comply with this section.
Exception: Barbeques, grills, and other portable
devices intended solely for cooking.

Section 308.1.6.3 of the California Fire Code, 2022 Edition
is amended to read as follows:
308.1.6.3 Sky lanterns. A person shall not ignite,
release, or cause to be released a sky lantern.
