The provisions of this chapter are enacted pursuant to the provisions of Sections 36516 and 36516.2 of the Government Code of the State which established the salaries for Council members in general law cities having a population over 5,000 and up to and including 35,000, and provide for yearly adjustments of such salaries.

Each member of the Council shall receive a salary of $300 per calendar month through December 31, 2016. Each member of the Council shall receive a salary of $600 per calendar month commencing on January 1, 2017 and thereafter.
